This policy explains how TopBinz Cleaning Services Limited uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) on topbinzcleaning.co.uk, what we use them for, and how you can control them.
Your choice
We ask for your permission before using analytics cookies. Google Analytics runs in consent mode: until you accept, it sets no cookies and collects no identifiers on your device, and reports only aggregated, modelled statistics to us. PostHog does not load at all until you accept. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the link in the footer of this site. Withdrawing consent takes effect straight away: Google Analytics returns to cookieless, aggregated mode and PostHog stops.
We keep a dated record of the choice you made (the decision, the date, and the version of this policy) so that we can demonstrate your consent if we are ever asked to. This record is stored on your device, not on our servers.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, which can remember a setting in your browser. They help a site remember your preferences, keep it secure, and understand how it is used.
Cookies and storage we use
Strictly necessary
These are needed to run the site and cannot be switched off through this policy. They do not involve analytics or advertising. They include:
- Consent preference: remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, and when, so we do not ask you on every visit.
- Security and checkout: protections used during the booking and payment process.
Analytics
These help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it, for example which pages are useful and where visitors leave the booking flow. Without your consent they run in a cookieless, aggregated mode only; full measurement begins when you accept. We use:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google): aggregated usage statistics such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you reached the site. In consent mode without consent it sets no cookies and stores no identifiers, sending only cookieless pings for aggregated, modelled reporting. With consent we also ask Google to anonymise your IP address. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising or to identify you.
- PostHog (EU hosting): usage and event analytics, including steps in the booking flow. We have disabled session recording and automatic element capture, so PostHog receives only the events we choose to send.
We do not use analytics cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes. Where analytics process personal data, we rely on your consent as the lawful basis, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Third-party cookies
When you complete a booking or make a payment, our payment provider Stripe may set cookies on its hosted payment pages to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. We do not control those cookies; they are governed by Stripe’s own cookie and privacy policies.
Managing cookies
You can accept, reject, change or withdraw your analytics choice at any time using the link in the footer. You can also clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as booking, from working correctly. Turning off analytics does not affect your ability to use the site or book a clean.
How long we keep information
Your consent preference stays on your device until you clear it. Analytics data is retained only for as long as needed to understand site usage and improve the service, in line with our analytics providers’ configured retention settings.
